A busy and welcoming family in St Leonards Hill, Windsor are seeking a permanent nanny to support them with the care of their two daughters, aged 9 and 8. This is a long-term role, starting as soon as possible, although the family are happy to wait for the right candidate.
Hours:
· Monday – Friday, approx. 30–35 hours per week during term time. Core hours will be 2:00pm – 8:00pm. Fewer working hours or alternative days may be considered for the right candidate.
· Parents manage the morning school run; children are at school during the day.
· The nanny will take over in the afternoons, collecting the girls from school and overseeing their care at home through to the evening.
· Additional hours may be offered during school holidays with plenty of notice.
The ideal person will:
· Have proven childcare experience (nannying or similar) and confidence working with school aged children.
· Be caring, reliable, and consistent with the ability to set firm but fair boundaries in a supportive way.
· Be energetic and engaged, able to keep up with two lively children after a busy school day.
· Speak fluent, articulate English, and be confident assisting with homework and reinforcing learning.
· Understand that this is a professional support role, working alongside the parents.
· Be proactive, well-organised, and respectful of the family’s home and routines.
Duties will include:
· Collecting the girls from school and supervising them at home.
· Supporting with homework and helping them stay on top of school commitments.
· Preparing and serving simple, healthy dinners.
· Overseeing bath time and evening routines, ensuring the children are settled by 7:30pm -8:00pm.
· Carrying out light housekeeping, tidying, and family laundry (no deep cleaning required, but ensuring the home is kept orderly).
· Helping to coordinate the children’s schedules, including after-school activities, tutoring, and weekend commitments.
Other details:
· A full, clean driving licence is essential, a car is required for school pick-ups. Mileage will be paid at 45 pence per business mile.
· No pets in the household.
· Salary: £15–£17 per hour gross, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
· Right to work in the UK.
· Enhanced DBS check (must be registered on the DBS Update Service).
· Valid paediatric first aid qualification.
· Strong, verifiable references from previous roles.
