The role will involve a mix of childcare and household duties, supporting the care of their 9 year old son whilst ensuring the home remains tidy and organised. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), although this is not a requirement.
The position is for 4 days a week, 9am – 5pm, offering a flexible work environment with the option to choose the days and between self-employed or employed status. If employed, this is a temp-to-perm role, with the potential for a permanent position based on mutual satisfaction.

Warm and loving family in Lower Earley are searching for a nanny to look after their 1-year-old daughter. The position is for 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday) from 0900 and 1600 starting from 19th May 2025 until January 2026. After January 2026, the hours will reduce to approximately 2 days so this position can either be for a minimum of 8 months or continued with less hours.
The family is looking for someone who is nurturing, kind, and caring, who has an affinity for working with children and is passionate about child development. Someone who is calming, patient and has a strong understanding of milestones. Whilst formal qualifications may not be a necessity, a demonstrated background in childcare is critical.
A point of note is that the family do work from home, but they will not interfere with the role of the nanny throughout the day and will only offer support if requested.
Duties will include nursery duties, providing a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment for their daughter and meeting her needs in a responsible and appropriate manner. Their little girl has recently started attending groups and play sessions in the local area and is thriving in this environment as well as enjoying outside time and fresh air – someone who is eager to continue this with her would be welcomed. There are no cooking or cleaning duties involved and the primary focus will be on childcare.
The salary for this position ranges from £15/hr gross depending on experience.
Unfortunately, a nanny with their own child would not be suitable for this role.
